Reviews
I went to this place reluctantly since there weren't many stores open, and I'm truly sorry I did. I don't even know where to start. The picture I placed was supposed to be lamb gyro platter. The meat was cold and had a weird texture to it. The sauce and rice were super bland. The cheesesteak was just box steak and it wasn't loaded or cheesy, it tasted okay but not worth the money. It isn't even worth the trip, even if you had a few drinks. Disgusting I'm sorry. ZERO stars, my wife didn't finish the fat boy sandwich because the Mac and cheese had no flavor, the fries were soggy, and the turkey bacon and salami on the sandwich tasted a month old. Only thing eaten out of $50 was the cheesesteak, which I stated was sub par at best.
The place is nice. They are clean, well organized, the staff is also nice. I went for breakfast and got a bacon, egg and cheese breakfast sandwich. It was good, a little salty and I will definitely go again to try their “FAT SANDWICH” which looks like it would reck my guts but it’s part of the R U experience so-
It’s a good place. It’s opened while most places around The Yard are closed early in the morning.
I would give this place a 4.5 out of 5 from my experience today.
Good late night spot with friendly staff! FYI they changed their menu and dropping some of their sandwiches soon
If you can imagine it on bread, this place can do it and call it a sandwich. Quite the menu
This is what my food looked like when i received it. This was a breakfast sandwich. No reason a breakfast sandwich should have this much grease. On top of this, while waiting for my food i SAW the lady in the back putting the mayo into the container where they put it on sandwiches and sucked on the mayo mixing spoon and put it right back in. Absolutely disgusting & unhygienic. Also coughing on top of the grill. Do not go here.
Fun re-creation of the old food trucks from Rutgers history. Food is as expected, greasy fattening and at the right time, just what you want and need. Not a disappointment. Meets the expectations!
The sandwiches here are exactly what they're called - fat sandwiches. They're really messy to eat and stuffed with a bunch of fried food. I tried the Indian Sandwich which was interestingly named... But the combo of falafel and marinara sauce didn't seem to work too well for me. Also the fries ended up getting very soggy somehow. I like the idea of having mozzarella sticks in the sandwich and wish there was a bit more lettuce/tomatoes. I think this place has good drunk food.
Always a great trip down memory lane when I get a fat sandwich here. Maybe just my old age but I felt like the fries and marinara didn't hit as well on my Fat Darrell this time around.
